Uttarakhand: Smart meter… consumers will get electricity bills as before, instructions given in review meeting

UPCL Managing Director Anil Kumar directed that bills of smart meters should be given to consumers as before till further orders. Apart from this, he also directed to achieve the target of installing smart meters on government connections by March 31.

The Managing Director gave these instructions to the officials of the Energy Corporation in the review meeting on the progress of smart meter installation and 100% revenue collection. Apart from ensuring that all consumers receive bills on time, he asked the officials to ensure that those consumers whose mobile numbers and emails are available receive bills through SMS and e-mail along with physical bills. The Managing Director said that the step of installing the smart meter system will not only solve the current challenges but will also improve the methods of energy management in future.
