Earthquake wreaks havoc from Myanmar to Thailand, 144 dead, more than 800 injured

At least 144 people have lost their lives and more than 730 have been injured in the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar on Friday afternoon. Rescue work is continuing till late Friday night, so the death toll is expected to increase further. The earthquake has also caused massive devastation in Myanmar’s neighboring country Thailand. At least 10 people have lost their lives in Thailand, the capital of Thailand. A large-scale rescue operation is being carried out to rescue people trapped in the rubble after a building under construction collapsed in Bangkok. Rescue work is going on rapidly in Bangkok but relief is being difficult due to the civil war in Myanmar. Myanmar has appealed to the international community for help to deal with this crisis.

An official of Myanmar’s military regime has confirmed 144 deaths due to the earthquake in the country. International Rescue Committee Myanmar director Mohammad Riyas has said that thousands of people in Myanmar need immediate shelter, food and medical help. He said that the country’s communication lines have come to a standstill and transport is disrupted. In such a situation, it may take several weeks to know the exact damage from the earthquake. Heavy damage in Myanmar

Parts of the highway connecting Mandalay and Myanmar’s largest city Yangon have also been damaged by the earthquake. Myanmar’s ruling army has declared a state of emergency in many areas. Myanmar’s ruling military general Min Aung Hlaing has appealed to the world for help.

The earthquake in Thailand’s capital Bangkok turned a 33-storey building under construction into a cloud of dust. Due to this, many workers working here were buried under the rubble. The earthquake has also caused heavy damage in China’s Yunnan and Sichuan provinces. These tremors occurred in areas near the Myanmar border. The effect of the earthquake has also been seen near the Myanmar border in Bangladesh and India.

The World Health Organization (WHO) said that it has activated the emergency management response after the massive earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand. The organization has said that we see this as a major event and it is clearly a huge threat to life and health.
