A terrible accident has happened due to the explosion of a gas pipeline in Selangor state, situated near Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur. According to reports, a huge explosion took place due to a fire in a gas pipeline in Putra Heights on Tuesday, after which the authorities have ordered evacuation of the nearby residential areas. According to Malaysian media reports, a fire broke out near a gas station in Putra Heights, situated in the middle of Selangor state. This smoke of fire could be seen from several kilometers away. Fire brigade has been sent to control the gas fire. At the same time, medical team has also been sent to the spot.

Malaysian media, quoting local officials, has said that 12 people have been seriously injured and 82 people have been rescued in the blast. A video of this blast has gone viral on social media, in which a huge cloud of fire can be seen rising in the sky. The Star newspaper has quoted fire department director Wan Mohammad Razali Wan Ismail as saying that dozens of firefighters have been immediately sent to the spot for rescue work. The team has said that the cause of the fire was a burst pipeline.

According to the report, this blast took place at 8:10 am Malaysian time. The cause of the fire and blast is attributed to a leak in the Petronas gas pipeline. About 500 meters of the pipeline has come under fire. BNO News has said in its report that after the fire in the pipeline, many houses have caught fire and some people are trapped in the flames. Till the time of writing the report, it is not known how many people are trapped in the fire or how many people have lost their lives. According to the information received so far, the victims of the accident are being given medical treatment at a temporary relief center in the Putra Heights Mosque Multipurpose Hall. At the same time, it is reported that many people are being brought to the hospital in critical condition. The nearby gas pipelines have been shut down for the time being and rescue workers are working to remove fuel from the gas pipeline in which the leak has occurred to avoid further explosions.
