Hundreds of UKD workers demonstrated on Tuesday against the cases being registered by the state government against two persons of hill origin. During the demonstration, the workers marched towards the Chief Minister’s residence. During this, on the basis of the complaint of the outpost in-charge regarding the ruckus and obstruction in government work by unknown workers, a case has been registered against unknown workers of UKD in Dalanwala police station, and the police is investigating the matter.

Case registered against UKD leaders and workers

Karanpur outpost in-charge Omprakash has lodged a complaint that on March 8, hundreds of workers gathered near the Parade Ground under the leadership of UKD to protest against the false cases being registered by the state government against the persons of hill origin. The workers, raising slogans, marched from Rajpur Road via New Cantt Road to the Chief Minister’s Uttarakhand residence. In which police force was present to maintain peace and order.

Police made serious allegations

The outpost in-charge has stated in the complaint that about 250 to 300 UKD workers gathered in a vehicle and were raising anti-government slogans through a loudspeaker. While raising slogans, a group went from Kanak Chowk to Oriental Chowk via Rajpur Road to New Cantt Road to Hathibarkala Barrier. During this time, some unknown person among the UKD workers vandalized and tore the hoardings and posters (which were put up by the government department to celebrate the completion of 3 years of service, good governance and development) near Kanak Chowk, causing damage to government property.

Allegation of tearing posters and hoardings

It was stated in the complaint that the police tried to move the rally to one side of the road, but the party workers sat in the middle of the road, due to which the commuters had to face problems. Due to the traffic being blocked on both sides of the road, long queues of vehicles were formed, in which government ambulances and other emergency vehicles also got stuck. Unknown activists formed a coalition and blocked the road by sitting on the road openly and created a ruckus by raising anti-government slogans, interfering in government work and vandalizing hoardings. On the basis of the complaint, a case was registered against unknown activists. Let us tell you that UKD is vocal about the police action against UKD leaders Ashutosh Negi and Ashish Negi. UKD is attacking the government on this issue.
