On April 16, there was a stir in a private PG in Premnagar police station area of Dehradun when Shashi Shekhar, a student of BSc Agriculture second year, was injured by a bullet in suspicious circumstances. The 21-year-old student from Jharkhand was shot on the left side of the head, after which he was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Immediately after the incident, the police reached the spot and started investigation with the forensic team.
The youth was showing the pistol to his friend
In the investigation, it was revealed that at the time of the incident, Shashi Shekhar was in the room with his roommate Shashi Ranjan (21), a resident of Bihar. Shashi Shekhar and Shashi Ranjan were both students of the same college. According to Shashi Ranjan, Shashi Shekhar had a pistol. Which he was showing to Shashi Ranjan. During this time, while tampering with the pistol, Shashi Ranjan accidentally pressed the trigger and the bullet was fired.
Police arrested the youth
Shashi Ranjan said that the bullet hit Shashi Shekhar directly in the head. Panicked, Shashi Ranjan put the pistol, magazine and shell at the place from where the weapon had come out and went out. Later, with the help of friends, the injured student was taken to the hospital. At present, the police have registered a case against Shashi Ranjan. The investigation of the case is going on.
