Pakistan has expressed its displeasure over India’s statement that Pakistan should vacate POK (Pakistan occupied Kashmir). On Friday, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement and said that India’s statement is false and cheap.

Pakistan said that instead of making such statements, India should try to find a solution to Kashmir according to the wishes of the people there.

Described Jammu and Kashmir as a disputed area

Pakistan in its statement described Jammu and Kashmir as a disputed area and said that its decision should be based on the decisions of the United Nations (UN) and the opinion of Kashmiris. He said, “Jammu and Kashmir is an area which has been considered disputed by the whole world and its final decision should be according to the UN resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.”

India had said this

Pakistani Army Chief General Asim Munir had described Kashmir as the ‘jugular vein’ of Pakistan. India’s Foreign Ministry responded to this on Thursday. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “How can any foreign thing be someone’s ‘jugular vein’? No foreign country has any right in India’s internal matters. Jammu and Kashmir is a part of India and is a union territory. Our only relation with Pakistan is that it should vacate POK (Pakistan occupied Kashmir) which it has illegally occupied.”

Earlier, while addressing Pakistanis living abroad, General Munir had said that India and Pakistan are two different countries. He said, “We are not one. Our ancestors have struggled and sacrificed a lot to create Pakistan. We know how to protect our country.”
