4 dead so far, 8-10 people still trapped

The building collapse incident happened on Saturday morning. Many people are still feared to be trapped in the debris. Various rescue agencies including NDRF and Fire Brigade team are engaged in rescue operation. A senior police officer said that so far four people have died in this accident. At the same time, 14 people have been pulled out alive. 8-10 people are still feared to be trapped. The injured have been admitted to GTB Hospital for treatment.

Divisional Fire Officer Rajendra Atwal said that he received news of the building collapse at 2:50 am on Saturday. Fire officials immediately reached the spot. It was found that the entire building had collapsed and some people were trapped.

‘Chances of survival very low’

An NDRF official described it as a “pancake collapse” and said that chances of people surviving are very low. But we are trying to remove the debris. Survivors are being evacuated. He said that due to lack of space in the crowded area, heavy machines are not being used properly. Rescue operations have also faced challenges.

This incident of building collapse happened just a few hours after heavy winds and rain accompanied by thunder in Delhi. The reasons for this accident are being investigated.

Two nephews lost, neighbours are not being found

In this accident, a man lost his two nephews. His sister, brother-in-law and niece are injured. He is being treated in the hospital. Another person said that he has not seen his neighbors since the incident. There were about 8 members in the family, none of them is visible.
