Uttarakhand / Dehradun: New fire station will open in Sahastradhara

CM Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday attended a program organized on the occasion of Fire Service Week at Police Line Doon. During this, the CM honored 7 firefighters who won medals during the 3rd All India Fire Service Games and 2 firefighters who won DGFS Disc Medal of Union Home Ministry. On this occasion, the CM flagged off 20 new fire tenders and fire vehicles included in Uttarakhand Fire Service for public awareness. During this, he also observed the feats shown by the firefighters.
Fire stations to be opened at 5 places
The CM also announced the opening of new fire stations in Bhimtal, Dwarahat, Gauchar, Purola and Sahasradhara soon. At the same time, he announced the establishment of a world level training center of fire service in Uttarakhand and to provide incentive amount of Rs 10,000 each to all the personnel of Uttarakhand Fire Service who performed their duty by doing duty in the Maha Kumbh held in Prayagraj.
Achievements of Fire Service
- Property worth more than 53 thousand crores saved
- Lives of more than 27 thousand humans and about 7 thousand animals also saved.
- Now women are also contributing as firefighters in Uttarakhand Fire and Emergency Service.
- The Center has approved Rs 71 crore for Uttarakhand Fire.
- Construction of 18 fire stations in the state and efforts to buy world level equipment to deal with fire emergencies.
- For the safety of fire fighters, the government has also purchased fire suits of world class quality.
- The fire department will also have to play an important role in the successful and efficient operation of Chardham Yatra.
Fire stations will also open in remote areas
The CM said that along with the construction of the fire station building in Gairsain, more than 78 houses are also being constructed. The government has also approved Bahadarabad Fire Station in Haridwar district. Said, mapping of fire stations is being done at the government level as per the geographical conditions and needs of Uttarakhand. After which fire stations can be opened in remote areas.
A lot of damage was caused last year
The CM said that the role of fire and emergency services becomes important during natural disasters. Last year, the fire service employees did their work with dedication and commitment during the disasters in Kedarnath, Tanakpur, Khatima, Arakot and Raini. Said, last year forest fire caused damage to forest wealth, wildlife and environment.
