Uttarakhand: Congress’ ‘Save Constitution Rally’ in Dehradun, Sachin Pilot attended, opposition leader lashed out at BJP government

Congress workers demonstrated unity in the Congress’ ‘Samvidhan Bachao Rally’ at Rangers Ground in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. A huge crowd of workers gathered here in the rally. As the chief guest, former Rajasthan Deputy CM Sachin Pilot participated in the ‘Samvidhan Bachao Rally’ and enthused the workers about the 2027 elections.

The rally was addressed by former Chief Minister Harish Rawat, Congress State President Karan Mahara, Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya, former State President Pritam Singh and all senior leaders including Ganesh Godiyal and other party leaders. After the rally concluded, Sachin Pilot said that the ‘Samvidhan Bachao Rally’ has been organized in Dehradun on the call of the top leadership. Workers from across the state have participated in this rally. He said that the BJP government at the Center is constantly working against the basic spirit of the Constitution. A strange atmosphere is being created among the people.

Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya said that the BJP government of the state only talks about caste and religion in the state, while the people of the state have elected them for the all-round development of Uttarakhand. They do not talk about how the state can be developed, how can the poverty of the people be eradicated in the state, how can the education/health system be improved, how can irrigation facilities be made available to farmers, how can the rural economy be improved, how can the unemployed get jobs, how can tourism facilities be improved, how can people get electricity 24 hours a day, how can the common people be freed from the corruption prevailing in the state.

Arya said that the Congress’s “Save Constitution” campaign is not just a political initiative, but a national call to protect the constitutional rights of common citizens. This movement is for the re-establishment of social, economic and political justice, which has been weakened by the BJP government. Apart from this, those who do not believe in the Constitution are trying to tear apart the basic preamble of the Constitution. But the Congress is strongly standing against it. Congress party will not let their intentions be fulfilled with public support.

BJP governments are conspiratorially attacking the rights of “Baba Saheb” in India. On one hand, BJP is ending the reservation of Dalits as per the Constitution, on the other hand, by cutting the budget of Dalit welfare schemes, they are being conspiratorially ‘thrown out’ from the government. This is against both the thinking and teachings of Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Today, BJP is engaged in erasing the Constitution, Reservation and Dalit rights – we will fight them and win! It is time for a decisive battle against trampling on constitutional rights and social justice! Further Yashpal said that I want to tell all of you that together we will protect the Constitution made by Baba Saheb and the rights of the poor! This is not just a movement of Congress, but a movement of every citizen who believes in democracy and the Constitution.
