A helicopter crashed in Uttarkashi district this morning. Six people have died in the accident. The disaster management team along with the police-administration left for the spot. As soon as they reached the spot, the team started the rescue operation. After this accident, Kedarnath heli service from all three helipads Guptkashi, Sirsi and Phata has been stopped.
On Thursday morning at around 8:45 am, on receiving information about a helicopter crash near Ganganani on Gangotri National Highway, police, SDRF, fire, medical and other disaster relief teams reached the spot. Relief and rescue work was started. The helicopter belonged to Aerotrans Company, which took off from Sahastradhara helipad to Harshil this morning.
There were seven people on board the helicopter, including the pilot, of which six passengers died on the spot. One passenger is injured. Four passengers are said to be from Mumbai and two from Andhra Pradesh.
CM expressed grief
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed deep grief over the helicopter accident. He said that very sad news has been received about some casualties. May God grant peace to the souls of those who died in the accident and give strength to the bereaved families to bear this immense sorrow. He has instructed the administration to provide all possible help to the injured and investigate the accident. He said that I am in constant touch with the officials in this regard and every situation is being monitored.
Warning regarding weather in the state
Let us tell you that Chardham Yatra is going on in Uttarakhand these days. A large number of pilgrims are reaching to go to Kedarnath, Badrinath and Gangotri-Yamunotri. Some have set out on foot while many people are reaching by helicopter service.

Last Monday, May 5, a helicopter carrying pilgrims from Badrinath to Dehradun had to make an emergency landing at Gopeshwar playground due to bad weather in Badrinath Dham area. After staying in the playground for about five minutes, the helicopter left for Dehradun.
Due to bad weather between Pipalkoti and Chamoli at around 2 pm, the helicopter carrying pilgrims to Dehradun after visiting Badrinath tried to make an emergency landing at Gopeshwar Police Ground, but due to vehicles parked there, the helicopter came towards the playground.
Here too, the improvement work of the ground is going on, along with the construction of badminton indoor building, improvement work of the ground is also going on. Despite this, the pilot landed the helicopter in the middle of the ground. After staying for some time, when the weather became normal, the helicopter left for Dehradun.
