Uttarakhand: Congress declares siege on Quarab danger zone, BJP says work has already started, why the drama now?

BJP leader and former minister of state Bittu Karnataka has launched a scathing attack on the Congress’ proposed District Magistrate Office Gherao program. He said that work has already started in February 2025 with the approval of crores of rupees for the improvement of Quarab Danger Zone, in such a situation, he has termed the Congress movement as ridiculous.

Bittu Karnataka said that the central government has approved a total of Rs 68.51 crore in two phases for a permanent solution to the continuous landslides near Quarab bridge on Highway No. 109. He said that the first work Khad Side Protection has started at a cost of Rs 17.14 crore, while the second phase Hill Side Treatment is worth Rs 51.37 crore. The tender process of which has been completed and the work is going to start soon.

Congress is misleading the public: Bittu Karnataka
Bittu Karnataka said that the Congress is misleading the public and is deliberately propagating that the work will start only after their gherao. Bittu said that the public is wise and this drama of Congress has now been exposed. Karnataka also alleged that Congress is doing such programs only to take credit and increase the shine of its leaders.
