Uttaraakhand: CM honored those who did excellent work in the field of environment

On the occasion of World Environment Day, CM Dhami honored those who did excellent work in the field of environment at Mukhya Sevak Sadan located at the Chief Minister’s residence. On this occasion, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also administered the oath of ‘Plastic Free Uttarakhand’ while making the citizens of the state aware of environmental responsibilities.

CM Dhami honored the winners of ‘Sundar Lal Bahuguna Nature and Environment Conservation Award-2025’. In the government category, Municipal Corporation Rudrapur got this honor, which was received by Deputy Municipal Commissioner Shipra Joshi. At the same time, in the non-government category, environmental warriors Vijay Jaddhari and Pratap Singh Pokhriyal were honored for their outstanding contribution.
CM Dhami released awareness poster
In the program, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami released the awareness poster prepared by the Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board. Along with this, the portal developed by Eco Tourism Corporation was also inaugurated. During this, cloth bags were distributed to school children and a message was given to adopt the alternative to plastic.
Called to plant fruit trees
CM Dhami directed the Forest Department to plant at least one thousand fruit trees in each forest division of the state, so that food can be available for wild animals. He appealed to the general public and pilgrims not to feed harmful things to wild animals and to plant saplings on special occasions.
Glaciers and dense forests are the identity of Uttarakhand: CM
The CM said that the biodiversity, rivers, glaciers and dense forests of Uttarakhand are the identity of the state. It is the responsibility of all of us to save them. Referring to the national campaigns like Solar Mission, Green Hydrogen Mission and Namami Gange Abhiyan running for environmental protection under the leadership of PM Modi, the CM said that these schemes are taking the country forward in the direction of environmental sustainability.
