Uttarakhand: CM Dhami said in Nainital, DSA ground will become a national level sports center

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who arrived at the program organized at DSA ground in Nainital on Friday, made several important announcements regarding the sports policy of the state. He said that the DSA ground will be developed as a model sports center equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, so that national level competitions and training will be possible here.

Chief Minister Dhami also talked about setting up hockey turf and boxing ring in the flats ground. The CM clarified that the flats ground will be used only for sports and cultural events, commercial activities will be banned, so that the players can get proper opportunities. The CM said that recently seven national sports competitions were successfully organized in Nainital and Haldwani, and Uttarakhand has increased the prestige of the state by winning 103 medals in the 38th National Games.
Sports Legacy Plan will be implemented in Uttarakhand soon
The CM said that the state government will soon implement the Sports Legacy Plan, under which 23 sports academies will be built in eight cities. Apart from this, the first sports university is being established in Haldwani and a women’s sports college in Lohaghat. The CM said that under the new sports policy, international and national medal winners are being given government jobs. Along with this, emerging players are being encouraged through programs like Mukhyamantri Khiladi Protsahan Yojana, Khel Kit Yojana and Uttarakhand Khel Ratna Award.
