The situation is such that on Friday, there was a jam of about three kilometers long near Kinkreag in Mussoorie. There was also a jam situation on Kempty Road and Dhanolti Road.

On Saturday also, there was a four-km long jam from Kingkreag in Mussoorie to Gandhi Chowk, Zero Point for several hours. Vehicles kept crawling, walking became difficult. Vehicles going to Kempty were diverted via Lord Mackenzie Road.

Due to the arrival of tourists, most of the hotels in Mussoorie had 100 percent booking. Due to the hotels being full, many tourists did not even get rooms, due to which they kept wandering, while many tourists had to return disappointed. Due to lack of proper arrangements by the police-administration, the jam that lasted the whole day also kept disturbing the enjoyment of the tourists. The situation was that it was taking two and a half to three hours to reach Mussoorie from Doon and on reaching there, Mussoorie was also found packed.

Along with Mussoorie, most of the hotels and guest houses in Dhanolti, Buranshkhanda, Kanatal, Campti etc. areas were also completely packed with tourists. Regarding traffic jam and crowd management, SSP Ajay Singh has instructed Rajpur and Mussoorie police station to take action against vehicles parked in no-parking zones. Due to the two consecutive days of holiday, the process of arrival of tourists in Mussoorie started from Friday morning itself, which continued till night.

Mussoorie, the queen of mountains, has always been the first choice of tourists. This is the reason why a large number of tourists reached Mussoorie this weekend too. Due to the crowd, tourists had to face traffic jams many times to reach Mussoorie. There was a jam on the Dehradun-Mussoorie road. Due to the crowd of tourists, there was a lot of activity in tourist places like Campti Fall, Dhanolti, Company Garden, Bhattafal, Gunhill, Mussoorie Lake, Lal Tibba-Char Dukan etc., Mall Road and Mussoorie market. Police had to work hard to keep the traffic smooth throughout the day at Gandhi Chowk. At the same time, a large number of tourists have also arrived in Dhanolti.

95 percent rooms full, bookings for further too

Mussoorie Hotel Association President Sanjay Agarwal said that by Friday evening, 100 percent rooms in Mussoorie hotels were full. Due to which every section associated with the tourism business is getting work. Agarwal said that there are a large number of bookings for Saturday and Sunday. Due to this, the hotels of the city are expected to be completely full on the weekend. Agarwal said that there is a holiday on the weekend next week also due to second Saturday.

So far 80 percent booking has been done for the next weekend also. In such a situation, the next weekend can also be packed. Let us tell you that there are about 350 hotels and guest houses in Mussoorie, in which about 25 thousand tourists can stay. At the same time, there are more than 50 hotels and guest houses in Dhanolti, Kanatal, Buranshkhanda and Campti.

Welcomed by rain and hailstorm

Due to change in weather and rising mercury in the plains, there is scorching heat. To get relief from this, tourists are turning to cold areas. This was the reason that tourists planned a trip to the queen of mountains, Mussoorie, on the weekend. The weather has also been pleasant. Rain and hailstorm welcomed the tourists who reached Mussoorie on Thursday night. The tourists who reached Mussoorie on Friday evening were also seen shivering.

Most tourists from NCR, Punjab and UP

Most bookings are by tourists from many cities of NCR, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, UP. Tourists had made advance bookings in most of the hotels. A large number of tourists are also staying in Campti and Dhanolti. Meanwhile, SSP Ajay Singh said that Mussoorie is fully prepared to deal with traffic jams on weekends. Additional police force is being sent to Mussoorie. If required, route diversion from Gajji Band to Hathi Paon Marg, Malingaar Chowk will also be considered.

Jam due to illegal parking of rental two-wheelers

Traffic jams are occurring in Mussoorie city due to illegal parking of rental two-wheelers. Hundreds of rental two-wheelers are being parked on the roads on Upper Mall Road from Picture Palace to Ghantaghar, Picture Palace to Gandhi Chowk and Motilal Nehru Road. The worst condition is of Library Bazaar, where rental two-wheelers are being parked on Mall Road. At the same time, traffic jams are also occurring in Mussoorie due to illegal parking of taxis. People were troubled by jams throughout the day from Dehradun-Mussoorie road to Mussoorie city. The situation was such that it was taking half to one hour to cover a distance of five minutes.
