Uttarakhand: STF strikes on drug traffickers, one smuggler arrested with heroin worth 40 lakhs

The Anti Narcotics Task Force of the Special Task Force (STF) of Uttarakhand Police has once again taken strict action against drug smugglers. In a joint operation conducted late night in Rudrapur area, a drug smuggler has been arrested with heroin worth about Rs 40 lakh.

The joint team of STF and Rudrapur Police has taken this action near Gandhi Park. 135 grams of illegal heroin has been recovered from the accused. The smuggler has been identified as Dharamveer Gangwar (55) son of Sohan Lal, resident of Uttar Pradesh. The accused told during interrogation that he buys heroin from Bareilly and sells it in Rudrapur and surrounding areas.
STF engaged in investigating the criminal history of the accused
Giving information, STF said that the names of many other drug dealers have also come to light during interrogation, against whom separate action will be taken soon. The criminal history of the accused is also being investigated. This swift action by the STF has created panic among drug smugglers.
