Rudrapur Kotwali Police of Udham Singh Nagar district has arrested a tantrik. The tantrik is accused of swindling lakhs of rupees from innocent people by trapping them in his net. The accused has also made a woman his victim in Rudrapur Kotwali area. It is alleged that the accused tantrik raped the woman forcibly on the pretext of taking out the money buried in the house. Not only this, the accused has also cheated the woman of lakhs of rupees by blackmailing her.

This is the case

On June 8, 2025, a woman submitted a complaint to Rudrapur Kotwali Police and told that she had met a tantrik Ram Bhagat some time back. During this, she told him about the circumstances of her house. After the meeting, he laid his trap and said that there is a lot of Maya in her zodiac sign, which is buried under the house. He is a devotee of Kali Mata and he can take out this money. On March 21, 2025, he came to her house and went away with the puja material in the room. After some time, he called the woman in the room. The room was dark.

During this time, she had dug a hole in the room. In which a snake and some shiny object were seen. After which the accused started doing obscene acts with her. On protesting, he also threatened to kill the family with tantra mantra. During this time, the accused raped her forcefully. After which he went away with the puja material and said that he would meet again after a few days.

During this time, the accused called her near Teenpani Dam and showed her an obscene video and threatened that he wanted five lakh rupees. Otherwise, he would make the video viral on social media. Scared, the woman gave five lakh rupees to the Tantrik. But after that, the Tantrik started demanding more money. The woman told that when she got information about the Tantrik, she came to know that the accused has done wrong things to many people by luring them in this way. Earlier also, he has gone to jail in a similar case.

The police registered a case on the basis of the complaint and started searching for the accused. The Kotwali police arrested the accused from near Degree College Rudrapur. During interrogation, the accused revealed his name as Rambhagat, resident of Rampura. The accused said that he cheats people by scaring them with the fear of the goddess and telling them that there is money buried inside their houses. A case has already been registered against the accused in Transit Camp police station in 2021.
