Uttarakhand: Election Commission team gave training to BLO and supervisors

The Election Commission of India organized a training session in Chamoli tehsil on Friday. During this, a training program was organized under the chairmanship of the Under Secretary of the Commission, Dilip Mahato. Where the 8-member team of the Commission conducted a field inspection of remote polling stations and reviewed the election related preparations, infrastructure and voter list revision work.

The Under Secretary provided training to BLOs (Booth Level Officers) and BLO supervisors in the context of the upcoming election work. During the training session, detailed information was given on topics like the process of adding, deleting, modifying and transferring names in the voter list, facilities for disabled voters and e-registration. The Under Secretary directed the officers present to ensure the accuracy of the voter list and no negligence should be done in the verification work by going door to door.

The Under Secretary said that the role of regional employees is very important to conduct the election process in a transparent, fair and smooth manner. He said that the objective of the Election Commission is that the name of every eligible citizen should be included in the voter list, and no eligible voter should be left out. The active role of BLO is necessary in this direction. During the visit, the Election Commission team also took stock of the status of basic facilities at the polling stations.
