The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for most of the districts of the state. Also, in view of the possibility of rising water level of rivers and streams, people have been appealed to be cautious.

Weather will remain bad in Uttarakhand today

According to the forecast issued by the Director of Meteorological Department, Vikram Singh, on June 15, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in most places of the hilly districts of Kumaon region of Uttarakhand and many places in the remaining districts of the state.

IMD issued rain alert

According to meteorologists, there is a possibility of heavy rain at some places in Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Nainital, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh and Champawat districts. There is a possibility of intense to very intense rain with thunder and lightning at some places in all the districts of the state. While there is a possibility of gusty winds blowing at a speed of 40 to 50 km per hour in these districts.

People living on the banks of rivers and drains are being alerted

In view of the possibility of water level rising in rivers and drains due to continuous heavy rains in Dehradun as well as hilly districts, people living on the river banks in Rispana and Bindal of Doon Police Nagar area are being alerted through loud hailers. The administration is constantly appealing to the people not to go to the banks of rivers and drains during the rain.
