How many flights do helicopters fly daily
For the last two months, all these companies together are flying an average of 215 flights in a day. When the weather is good, a maximum of 290 flights have been flown in a day. A maximum of 6 people including the pilot can sit in a helicopter. There were 7 people in the helicopter that crashed in Gaurikund because there was a 2-year-old child whose weight was 10 kg, hence the total number was 7.
DGCA asked to reduce the number of flights
DGCA had given instructions to reduce the number of flights a week ago. According to this guideline, only two flights will be operated in 1 hour. If the weather is good, a maximum of three flights can be operated in an hour. Passengers can be seated in the helicopter only after checking the weight and temperature of the fuel. That is, if the fuel is less, a maximum of 6 people will sit. If 45 kg fuel is complete then passengers will sit less.
What is the distance from which helipad to Kedarnath?
The distance from Phata helipad to Kedarnath is only 31 km. It takes only 9 minutes for the helicopter to cover this distance. The one way fare for this journey is Rs 2,500. The distance from Sisri helipad to Kedarnath is only 23 km. It takes 11 minutes for the helicopter to cover this distance. On the other hand, the distance from Guptkashi helipad to Kedarnath is 45 km and it takes 15 minutes for the helicopter to reach here. The one way fare on this route is Rs 3,800. Every day around 1500 passengers go to visit Chardham by helicopter.
