Due to continuous heavy rains near Jangalchatti, the footpath leading to Kedarnath Dham was blocked on June 15 due to sudden debris and stones falling in the ravine. The journey was temporarily suspended for some time in view of security. On Monday, once again the operation of the footpath from Sonprayag to Kedarnath Dham has started.

The administration took immediate cognizance and through the concerned departments, the work of removing the debris and stones lying at various places on the journey route and smoothening the route was done promptly at the level of the executive agencies late last evening. On Monday morning, when the weather became favorable, the route has been completely cleared to smoothen the Kedarnath Dham Yatra in the district. After which the Kedarnath Dham Yatra is being conducted normally again.

The weather in Kedarghati will remain bad in the coming days

Let us tell you that the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert today in view of the possibility of rain in the coming days. Due to sudden heavy rains, there is a possibility of landslides on the footpath or falling of stones or debris from the hill above. The administration has appealed to all the devotees coming on the Kedarnath Dham Yatra to come on their journey as per the weather forecast.
