National Ice Skating Championship will be held in Dehradun from June 25, players from 20 Asian countries will gather

This time, the passion of the players will heat up in the cold environment of Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. Because, from June 25, Dehradun is hosting the National Ice Skating Championship. About 450 players and more than 150 staff from 16 states across the country are reaching Dehradun to participate in this event. The Ice Skating Association of India has set up special training camps in Dehradun for this event. Where young players are honing their speed and balancing skills on the ice.

Players from 20 Asian countries including China, Japan, Singapore will gather in this rink of Olympic standard: Regarding the ice skating rink of Dehradun, President of Ice Skating Association of India, Amitabh Sharma says that ‘When this rink was built, it was the only one of its kind in the whole of Asia and even today it is very special. It is a matter of good fortune for the entire ice skating community that the Uttarakhand Sports Department has started it once again.

“This ice skating rink in Dehradun is the only Olympic size rink in India, which according to international standards requires a minimum field of playing (FOP) of 60×30 meters. This way it is a big option for India for the upcoming Olympics as well.” – Amitabh Sharma, President, Ice Skating Association of India

Amitabh Sharma told that the National Skating Championship is to be held here from June 25. After this, the Asian Open Short Track Championship is also to be held here in August, during which players from 20 countries of Asia will compete here. Out of these, Hong Kong (China), Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Kuwait, Qatar, Japan, Korea, all these countries have submitted their entries so far.

Players of Uttarakhand will become experts of winter games

From children to professional skaters, everyone is very excited about this championship. This event is expected to give a new dimension to winter sports in Uttarakhand. Dozens of participants from across the country will showcase their skills in this competition which is going to start from 25th June and the spectators will get an experience full of snowy adventure.
