Now America has also entered the war between Israel and Iran. On Sunday morning, as per Indian time, America targeted three nuclear sites of Iran – Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan – in its air strikes. Israel has praised America for these attacks. At the same time, the United Nations expressed concern over the American action and said that ‘the danger of this conflict getting out of hand is increasing rapidly’.
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said, “I am deeply concerned to hear about the military action taken by the US against Iran today. This is a dangerous provocative action in a region that is already on the verge of tension and it is a direct threat to international peace and security.”
‘Conflict getting out of control’
He said, ‘The risk of this conflict getting out of control is increasing rapidly – which could have a devastating impact not only on civilians but also on the entire region and the whole world. I appeal to all member countries to reduce tension and fulfill their responsibilities under the United Nations Charter and other rules of international law.’
The UN chief said, ‘It is very important to avoid chaos at this very sensitive time. There is no military solution to this crisis. The way forward is only diplomacy and peace is the only hope.’
Appeal for peace and threat at the same time
Trump addressed the nation on Sunday and appealed for peace and warned Iran that ‘there are still many targets left. If Iran still does not move towards peace, there will be more horrific attacks in the future.’ Trump said that ‘either peace will come to Iran or there will be destruction.’
