In Uttarakhand, trouble has started pouring from the sky with monsoon rains. Since yesterday morning, Uttarakhand is witnessing the wrath of nature in the form of rain. Talking about the latest situation, about 179 roads are blocked in the state due to rain and landslides. At the same time, nothing has been found yet about the seven laborers who went missing due to cloudburst in Uttarkashi district yesterday.

Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has also issued a rain alert on July 1. In such a situation, one should avoid traveling in hilly areas as much as possible.

At the same time, due to heavy rains on June 29-30, about 179 roads were closed in the state, which are being tried to be opened, but heavy rains are causing a lot of problems. According to the information received from the State Emergency Operations Center, 179 roads have been blocked due to heavy rains in Uttarakhand. These roads include two national highways, three state highways, one national highway of BRO, 85 PWD (Public Works Department) and 88 rural roads. Efforts are being made to open them.

  1. Two PWD and two rural roads are obstructed in Almora district.
  2. 10 PWD and 16 rural roads are obstructed in Bageshwar district.
  3. 20 PWD and 27 rural roads are obstructed in Chamoli district.
  4. One state highway and seven PWD roads are obstructed in Champawat district.
  5. Four Public Works Department roads are obstructed in Dehradun district.
  6. Three Public Works Department roads are obstructed in Nainital district.
  7. 10 Public Works Department and 11 rural roads are obstructed in Pauri district.
  8. One National Highway and 12 rural roads of Border Road Organisation are obstructed in Pithoragarh district.
  9. Two state highways and 16 Public Works Department roads are obstructed in Tehri district.
  10. Two National Highways are obstructed in Uttarkashi district.

Let us tell you that due to heavy rains on June 29, a disaster-like situation has arisen in Barkot of Uttarkashi district, due to which 29 laborers were trapped, out of which 20 laborers were rescued, but seven laborers were swept away in the strong flow of water, out of which the bodies of two have been found, but seven are still missing. At present, 15 NDRF and 20 NDRF personnel along with two dog squads are deployed at the spot. Due to heavy rains, two national highways are damaged in Uttarkashi district. At the same time, 6 people are still missing from the Rudraprayag bus accident, search operation is going on in search of them. But due to rain and strong flow of water, the team engaged in rescue and search operation is facing a lot of difficulties.
