The work of restoring the national highways blocked due to monsoon in Uttarkashi is going on at a war footing. On Saturday, the administration and BRO teams worked fast and made the blocked Yamunotri highway in Banas area near Hanuman Chatti operational for traffic.

The Yamunotri highway blocked near Banas in Uttarkashi has been restored for traffic. While a part of the Yamunotri highway near Ojri was washed out, the work of repairing it is going on continuously. According to departmental officials, this part will also be fully restored soon. On the other hand, the Gangotri highway is completely open and operational.
Rain alert in seven districts of Uttarakhand
The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rains in Dehradun, Tehri Garhwal, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Nainital, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar districts on July 5. While light to moderate rains are expected in other districts. Meteorologists have appealed to people traveling in the mountains to be cautious in view of the possibility of landslides in sensitive areas.
