Uttarakhand: Dhami government took big decisions for senior citizens, read in one click

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a meeting of the Social Welfare Department. In the meeting, the CM directed all the District Magistrates to perform the responsibility of the appeal officer at the district level to hear the complaints of senior citizens and resolve them.

A solution mechanism will be created in every district for the elderly

Chief Minister Dhami has also directed the Social Welfare Department to implement the ‘Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007’ with full strictness. Let us tell you that under this law in Uttarakhand, so far 13 district level appellate tribunals and more than 69 sub-district level tribunals have been formed. Here senior citizens can put their problems and ask for maintenance amount up to a maximum of 10 thousand per month.

Dhami government constituted Senior Citizen Welfare Council

The CM also told that if an elderly person gives his property to someone on the condition of care, and later those conditions are not met, then the tribunal can cancel the transfer of that property and get the property back. Apart from this, the government has started free old age homes in Chamoli, Uttarkashi and Bageshwar districts, where needy elderly people are living in a safe environment. The CM said that a Senior Citizen Welfare Council has also been formed in the state. In which Ramchandra Gaur has been appointed as the President and Shanti Mehra, Naveen Verma and Harak Singh Negi have been appointed as Vice Presidents.
