The Ukrainian military targeted Moscow on Friday. Kiev said it had attacked a Russian aviation plant and a missile production facility in the Tula region with drones. The military said the overnight attack caused an explosion and fire at the aviation plant.
Two people killed in Ukrainian drone attack
Two people were killed in Ukrainian drone attacks on Thursday and Friday. Meanwhile, 155 Ukrainian drones were shot down by the Russian air defense system. Russian aviation authority Rosaviatsia said three of the four airports in Moscow – Domodedovo, Vnukovo and Zhukovsky – had temporarily suspended operations as a precaution, which were later resumed.
A maternity hospital in Kharkiv damaged in a Russian drone attack
At the same time, nine people were injured and a maternity hospital was damaged in Kharkiv in a Russian drone attack. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov wrote on Telegram that mothers with newborns were being taken to a separate medical center. He did not say whether the injured included anyone from the hospital.
Trump to send weapons to Ukraine through NATO
President Donald Trump said the US will provide weapons to Ukraine through NATO and will make a major statement on Russia on Monday. Trump will send weapons to Kiev for the first time since returning to office under a presidential authority often used by his predecessor. Two sources familiar with the decision said the move signals the president’s new interest in defending Ukraine.
