Uttarakhand Police’s campaign against drug dealers is continuing. Police has arrested a woman smuggler from Champawat with a huge consignment of drugs. The cost of which is being said to be in crores.

It is worth mentioning that after the recent action taken by Thane and Mumbai Police of Maharashtra in Pithoragarh under the NDPS Act, Kumaon Range IG Riddhim Agarwal had given instructions to keep a vigilant watch on the Nepal border and pay special attention to suspicious activities. Under this, Tanakpur Police conducted a checking campaign in the Sharda Canal area near Gadhigoth Bridge (Pampapur) at 5:45 am on Saturday.

5 kg 688 grams of MDMA drugs recovered from the woman

During the checking campaign, the police saw a woman running towards the canal. On the suspicious behavior of the woman, the police stopped her and searched her bag. From which 5 kg 688 grams of MDMA was recovered. The woman has been identified as Isha (22), wife of Rahul Kumar. The cost of the drugs is said to be Rs 10 crore 23 lakh 84 thousand. MDMA drugs are usually used as a party drug.

The plan was to throw the drugs in the river at the behest of the husband

During interrogation, the woman told that these drugs were brought to her from Pithoragarh on June 27 by her husband Rahul Kumar and Tanakpur resident Kunal Kohli, who are currently wanted in a case registered in Maharashtra. According to the woman, seeing the increasing activism of the police, she was going to throw the drugs in the Sharda canal at the behest of her husband. The police have registered a case against the woman under the NDPS Act.
