Many criminal incidents have taken place in Bihar in the last few days. In many of these crimes, the role of contract killers has come to the fore. Now Bihar Police has taken an important step to identify these contract killers. Bihar Police will now prepare a database of such contract killers. This information was given by ADG Headquarters Kundan Krishnan in a press conference on Wednesday.

Kundan Krishnan said that a database of contract killers who commit murders across the state will be prepared at the police level. For this, a contract killer monitoring cell has been specially formed under the STF. This cell will collect complete details of all the contract killers and prepare their dossiers. This will make it easier to identify such killers in any incident.

ADG said that all the information including photo, name, address of the contract killer will be collected and kept. Many youths have been misled and have started killing by taking contract for the greed of money. Everyone needs to make united efforts to bring these youths on the right path. He said that a separate Kodha cell has been formed to catch the criminals involved in the Kodha gang. This cell focuses especially on arresting the criminals involved in the Tiwari gang of Begusarai.

He said that a Narcotics cell has also been formed in the ATF to curb the drug trade in the state. Its capacity is being enhanced to establish better coordination with the police stations. The number of officers and personnel in it is being increased.

500-600 criminals are being punished

The ADG said – An initiative has been started to re-establish fast track courts in the state to punish the criminals involved in serious and violent crimes. A proposal related to this has been sent to the Home Department, so that it can be implemented as soon as possible. Till 2012-13, with the help of fast track courts, two to three thousand criminals were given life imprisonment and other harsh punishments every year. Currently, 500-600 criminals are being given harsh punishment every year.

ADG Krishnan informed that 1290 such criminals have been identified in the state, who have acquired property due to criminal activity. Police is going to start the process of confiscating the property of all these people. He said that if a minor is caught with illegal weapons or father’s licensed weapons, then his guardian or father will also be jailed.

Crime incidents have increased in Bihar

ADG said that crime incidents have not increased in Bihar. Compared to the crimes committed in May-June last year, criminal incidents have decreased this year. Most murders happen in April-June. Farmers do not have work, so more crime happens. Giving this information, ADG Kundan Krishnan said that criminals involved in all the incidents like Danapur Jewellery Shop, Tanishq robbery in Ara, Maharashtra Bank robbery in Samastipur have been arrested. Dozens of robbery incidents have been prevented before they could happen. This is the result of STF’s special intelligence. A large number of criminals who carried out incidents in other states have been arrested. Since January this year, the STF has arrested more than 700 such criminals.

Arrest of Amarjeet Bhokta

The ADG said that Naxalite incidents are not happening in the state. Naxalites have been almost wiped out in their strongholds Gaya, Aurangabad, Munger, Jamui and other areas. 82 Naxalites have been arrested since January this year. As a result, the armed squad of Naxalites has been wiped out in Gaya, Aurangabad and surrounding areas. After the arrest of Amarjeet Bhokta, the situation has changed now. Only a few armed squads are left in the areas of Jamui and Kharagpur. They will also be wiped out soon.
