Woman dies due to landslide on Amarnath route, Yatra halted: Prayagraj crematorium in UP submerged, last rites performed on road, 109 deaths so far in Himachal

Heavy rains continue in UP. Ganga-Yamuna are in spate in Prayagraj on Thursday. 5 lakh population around the rivers is surrounded by water. The cremation grounds are flooded. Last rites are being performed on the roads.
On the other hand, due to continuous rains in Jammu and Kashmir, a landslide occurred on the Amarnath Yatra route on Wednesday. A woman pilgrim died and three were injured in a landslide on the Baltal route in Ganderbal district. Due to this, the Yatra was stopped for the whole day.
109 people have died in Himachal since June 20. Also, government and private property worth Rs 818 crore has been damaged due to incidents like heavy rains and cloudburst.
In Rajasthan, Dhaba village of Jhalawar is surrounded by water from all sides. People are stranded on the roofs of their houses. Water has entered schools, temples and offices in Nagaur and Behror.
Due to continuous rain in Mauganj district of Madhya Pradesh, there is a flood like situation in rural areas. People are carrying their belongings and moving towards safer places.
Meanwhile, 20 people died due to lightning in different districts of Bihar on Wednesday.
Amarnath Yatra halted, 2.47 lakh pilgrims have visited so far. Amarnath Yatra was halted for the whole day on Thursday after heavy rain warning in Jammu and Kashmir. Due to continuous rain for the last few days, the tracks need to be repaired immediately.
For this reason, it has been decided that no movement of any kind will be allowed on both the routes today. However, the pilgrims staying in Panchtarni Camp are being allowed to move towards Baltal with BRO and mountain rescue teams.
Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir said that the Yatra will resume from Friday depending on the weather conditions during the day. So far, 2.47 lakh pilgrims have visited the holy cave.
