Uttarakhand: Election Commission canceled nomination because toilet was far from home, now High Court reprimanded and gave this decision
In Tehri, the nomination of a candidate for the post of Gram Pradhan was rejected by the RO only because his toilet was 150 meters away from his house. In another case, the nomination of Sita Devi, a candidate for the post of District Panchayat member, was rejected because her no dues form had the signature of some other officer instead of the secretary.
The High Court changed the decision
For now, the High Court has reprimanded the RO in both these cases and has declared both the candidates eligible to contest the elections. After this decision of the court, there has been a stir in the political corridors.
Officers should be dismissed
Meanwhile, Congress State President Karan Mahara has demanded the dismissal of the State Election Commissioner during the press conference. He says that the officers who have taken wrong decisions as RO should also be dismissed immediately.
The Governor is not giving time to the opposition party
During this press conference, Karan Mahara told that he has been asking for time to meet the Governor for four days, but he is not giving time to the opposition party. Taking his point further, he said that he will observe a five-hour fast today near the Raj Bhavan.
