Uttarakhand: Big blow to Congress during Panchayat elections, many leaders joined BJP, CM welcomed them

b
Congress has suffered a major setback amidst the Uttarakhand Panchayat elections. Many state and district level leaders of Congress have left the party and joined BJP. Today, on Friday, July 18, many Congress leaders joined BJP in the presence of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed all the leaders who came from Congress to BJP.
The first name among the leaders who left the Congress is that of State Vice President of Mahila Morcha Meera Sonkar. Apart from this, dozens of Congress workers along with former City Congress President Ravish Bhatnagar have joined BJP. On this occasion, CM Dhami said that this is the result of BJP’s ideology and development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Bharatiya Janata Party is the largest party in the world today.
CM Dhami said that today he welcomes the leaders joining the party inspired by the principles of BJP and the work being done in the national interest. All the workers who have come from Congress to BJP will cooperate in the development of the state and will try to take the party’s customs and policies to the public. It is worth noting that CM Pushkar Singh Dhami is on a tour of Udham Singh Nagar district today. CM Dhami also paid obeisance at Nanakmatta Sahib Gurudwara.
Let us tell you that this is considered a big setback for Congress MLA and Deputy Leader of Opposition Bhuwan Chandra Kapri from Khatima assembly seat. Because in the 2022 assembly elections, Bhuwan Chandra Kapri defeated Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. After this, CM Dhami contested the by-election from Champawat. At the same time, the breakup of Congress in Khatima amidst the Panchayat elections is not a good sign for the opposition.
