Uttarakhand: Rain wreaks havoc in Dehradun, water filled in residential colonies, people trapped in homes

Heavy rains have wreaked havoc across the state. Due to continuous rain since morning, residential colonies of Dehradun were flooded. Due to which people were imprisoned inside their homes.
Water filled in residential colonies
Due to continuous heavy rains in Dehradun since Monday morning, the water level of Asan river increased. Due to which waterlogging occurred in residential colonies in Bhudpur area. People informed the police about being trapped in their homes. As soon as the information was received, Patel Nagar police reached the spot for rescue and with the help of rope, rescued the people safely and took them to safe places.
Heavy rain will occur in these districts including Dehradun
The Meteorological Department is likely to receive heavy rains in some places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri Garhwal, Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar districts on July 21. In view of which an orange alert has been issued. Also, people traveling in sensitive areas have been appealed to be cautious.
Doon Police on alert mode
After the weather department forecast, Dehradun SSP has put the police on alert mode. Police teams are regularly visiting settlements and residential areas along the river drains. Also, through loud hailers, people are being warned to be cautious and not to go near the river drains during the rainy season.
