The construction work of Sports University in Uttarakhand is going on at a fast pace. Preparations are underway for the foundation stone laying of the Sports University on the upcoming National Sports Day i.e. 29th August. Even before that, the Uttarakhand government has appointed three important posts of Sports University, Vice Chancellor, Registrar and Finance Controller. The Uttarakhand government has also issued an order in this regard. According to the order issued, the current Special Chief Sports Secretary Amit Sinha has been assigned the responsibility of Vice Chancellor.
After the order was issued by the Uttarakhand government, Special Chief Sports Secretary Amit Sinha has been appointed as the first Vice Chancellor of the Sports University. Along with this, Sports Director Ashish Chauhan has been assigned the responsibility of Registrar in the Sports University. Finance Officer of Sports Directorate VN Pandey has been assigned the responsibility of Finance Controller of Sports University. After the appointment of Vice Chancellor, Registrar and Finance Controller in the Sports University, Sports Minister Rekha Arya has given instructions to expedite the work related to the establishment of Sports University.
Temporary appointment made: Three posts have been created for the operation of Uttarakhand State Sports University Bill, 2025. After the creation of three posts for the Sports University, the Uttarakhand government has temporarily appointed the Vice Chancellor, Registrar and Finance Controller. According to the order issued by the Uttarakhand government regarding this appointment, temporary appointments have been made on these posts till the appointment of regular officers or for a maximum of one year.
Will conduct the activities of the university: At the same time, Sports Minister Rekha Arya said that these ex-officio appointments have been made to smoothly conduct all the administrative work for the establishment of the university. The Sports Minister said that the three officers will initially conduct the activities of the university. These temporary appointments have been made till the appointment of permanent officers or for a maximum of 1 year.
Fixed pay scale of the officials of the Sports University:-
- For the post of Vice Chancellor, a salary of Rs 2 lakh 10 thousand and Rs 5 thousand as special allowance has been approved.
- For the post of Registrar, a pay scale of Rs 78800- 209200 (Level-12) has been approved.
- For the post of Finance Controller, 123100- 215900 (Level-13) pay scale has been approved.
It is noteworthy that a sports university will be built in Haldwani Gaulapar. Along with this, efforts will also be made to open 23 sports academies in 8 cities of the state.
