Uttarakhand: Chief Secretary held a meeting of officials of concerned departments regarding Goljyu Devta Corridor Master Plan in Champawat

Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan held a meeting with the officials of the concerned departments regarding the Goljyu Devta Corridor Master Plan in Champawat at the Secretariat on Thursday. The Chief Secretary said that the anchor department for the Goljyu Devta Corridor Master Plan will be the Tourism Department. The concerned departments will be the implementing agencies for the components coming in it. He directed the Tourism Department to finalize the Goljyu Devta Corridor Master Plan in the next 15 days.
The Chief Secretary said that in the Goljyu Devta Corridor Master Plan, a plan should be prepared by assessing the parking and accommodation arrangements etc. according to the maximum number of tourists during peak time in the coming time. He said that the availability of basic facilities for tourists should be ensured.
The Chief Secretary said that the Central Plaza should be built on the lines of an open area. He also talked about building a Central Plaza in every city. For this, he also directed the Secretary Urban Development to develop an open area on the lines of a central plaza in urban bodies.
The Chief Secretary said that work should be done towards developing Lohaghat and Champawat as twin cities. He also directed to find and develop potential tourist spots around Champawat and Lohaghat. He also talked about developing other tourist areas including Shyamlatal near Lohaghat simultaneously.
The Chief Secretary said that the work of the Science City being built in Champawat should also be completed expeditiously. He talked about building one Science City in each district. He said that one mentor should also be appointed for each Science City, so that the work of maintenance and upgradation of the Science City continues regularly.
On this occasion, Special Principal Secretary Amit Sinha, Secretary Nitesh Kumar Jha, Dhiraj Singh Garbyal, Additional Secretary Dr. Ahmed Iqbal, Navneet Pandey and District Magistrate Champawat Manish Kumar were present through video conferencing.
