Uttarakhand: Voting for the second phase of Panchayat elections tomorrow, more than 14 thousand candidates in the fray, 21 lakh voters will cast their votes

Preparations for the second phase of three-tier panchayat elections in Uttarakhand have been completed. Voting for the second phase is to be held on Monday, July 28. In the second phase, voting will be held in 40 development blocks of 12 districts except Haridwar district. All polling parties have also left for this. The voting process will be done from 8 am to 5 pm on Monday.

Voting in these development blocks: In the second phase of three-tier panchayat elections, voting will be held in 40 development blocks of the state. These include Salt, Syalde, Bhikiyasain, Hawalbagh, Dwarahat, Rudrapur, Kashipur, Jaspur, Champawat, Barakot, Vin, Moonakot, Berinag, Gangolihat, Haldwani, Ramnagar, Bhimtal, Kotabagh, Dunda, Chinyalisaur, Bhatwadi, Pokhri, Dasholi, Nandanagar, Karnaprayag, Gairsain, Kirtinagar, Devprayag, Narendranagar, Chamba, Doiwala, Raipur, Sahaspur, Yamkeshwar, Jayharikhal, Dugadda, Dwarikhal, Pauri, Kot and Kaljikhal.

More than 14 thousand candidates in the fray: In this, 1998 candidates are in the fray for 933 posts of member Gram Panchayat, 7833 candidates for 2726 posts of Pradhan Gram Panchayat, 4214 candidates for 1225 posts of member Kshetra Panchayat, 716 candidates for 14 posts of member Zila Panchayat, that is, a total of 14 thousand 761 candidates are in the fray. In the second phase of voting, about 21 lakh voters will exercise their franchise.

Polling parties leave from Ramnagar: On Sunday, 133 polling parties left for polling stations from Ramnagar in Nainital. In Ramnagar area, voting is to be held for a total of 31 BDC members, 3 Zila Panchayat members, 50 Gram Pradhans and along with them, for the posts of ward members. A total of 134 polling stations have been set up for this. Out of which 20 centers have been kept in the sensitive category and 25 in the most sensitive category. The administration has made tight security arrangements.

According to election officials, 76 thousand 848 voters will exercise their franchise in Ramnagar in the second phase. A large number of migrant voters are also participating in this by returning to their villages. The special thing is that the polling party was sent to disaster-affected villages like Chukum in the district on Saturday itself. So that voting can be conducted smoothly in remote areas.

Election officer Priya Saini said that all polling parties have been sent with security and necessary guidelines. The administration is alert to conduct the voting process in a fair and peaceful manner. Additional security forces have been deployed at the most sensitive centers. So that the election is conducted in a peaceful environment.
