Uttarakhand: UCC felicitation ceremony, CM said state government paid true tribute to Baba Saheb

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday attended the felicitation ceremony organized at Mukhya Sevak Sadan located at the Chief Minister’s residence. The program was organized to commemorate the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Uttarakhand.
The rights of all citizens in the state have become equal: CM
The CM said in his address that this honor is actually an honor for the people of Uttarakhand. He said that the dream of UCC in Uttarakhand could be realized only with the blessings of the people. Dhami said that by implementing the UCC, the state government has paid true tribute to Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. Now the rights of all citizens in the state have become equal and a big step has been taken towards eliminating discrimination in the society.
Women’s rights secured after implementing UCC
Chief Minister Dhami said that women’s rights have been secured in the UCC. By making the registration of live-in relationships mandatory, the protection of sisters and daughters has been strengthened further. He expressed confidence that the “Ganga of UCC” will flow from Uttarakhand to the whole country. The CM said that the ideology of the state has always been based on values like social harmony, cultural consciousness and national unity.
Uttarakhand’s demography will not be allowed to change under any circumstances: CM
CM Dhami said that the decision taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to celebrate 26 November as Constitution Day is a true tribute to Baba Saheb. He said that his government has taken important steps like strict anti-riot law, conversion law and Operation Kalanemi. He also reiterated that the demography of Uttarakhand will not be allowed to change under any circumstances.
