The flood in Dharali in Uttarkashi is being monitored continuously from the state control room. Whereas, the rescue operation is going on at a war level in Dharali. So far 20 people have been rescued. At the same time, according to Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, many types of challenges are being faced in the rescue. At the same time, in view of the disaster in Uttarkashi, three IAS officers have been deployed in Uttarkashi district till further orders.

Let us tell you that on August 5, around 1:30 pm, the flood from Kheer Ganga in Dharali located on the Gangotri road of Uttarkashi swallowed the entire town. Where there used to be a full town, there is now a field of debris. After this incident, the district administration, SDRF and Indian Army teams have started rescue operations. More than 100 soldiers of the Ibex Brigade of the Indian Army have reached the spot, who have started relief and rescue operations.

Where the town was, there is now 25 feet of debris: Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey said that this incident was reported at 1:50 in the day and after that the district administration and disaster management department are continuously working on relief and rescue operations. He said that there is also information of cloudburst at Sukki Top. In this way, this incident has happened due to continuous cloudburst and heavy rainfall at two to three places.

Commissioner Pandey said that a large part of Dharali town has turned into debris. According to the information, about 20 to 25 feet of debris has filled the town. While the local people and the district administration team are helping on an immediate basis, whatever help is needed from the State Disaster Control Room for rescue on a large scale is being coordinated.

Roads blocked at three places before the incident site: Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey said that at present many challenges are being faced in relief and rescue operations. The connecting road to Dharali is blocked at Netala. Which the BRO team is engaged in opening. Apart from this, the road is also slightly obstructed at two to three other places, the process of opening which is going on.

Indian Air Force also contacted for help: Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey said that the Indian Air Service has also been contacted by the Disaster Management, but the way the weather is bad right now, help from the Indian Air Force is not possible at the moment. However, as soon as the weather clears, there is a possibility of getting help from the Indian Air Force.

Bustle in the state control room, Secretary on leave: After this terrible disaster in Uttarakhand, the entire government staff of the state government is present in the State Disaster Control Room located in IT Park, Dehradun. Because, the Disaster Management Secretary was on leave today, so Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu has taken over the responsibility in his place.

Apart from this, the entire government staff including Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, DGP Deepam Seth, IG SDRF, Home Secretary Shailesh Bagauli are present. Not only this, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has also cancelled all his programs and inquired about the situation. On the other hand, three IAS officers Abhishek Ruhela, Meherban Singh Bisht and Gaurav Kumar have been posted in Uttarkashi.
