Uttarakhand: Chief Minister Dhami will lay the foundation stone of Sports University on Sports Day on 29th

Vice Chancellor of Uttarakhand Sports University Amit Sinha held a meeting with sports officials and coaches on Saturday. During the meeting at Indira Gandhi International Sports Complex, he said that on the occasion of National Sports Day on August 29, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will lay the foundation stone of the Sports University at Indira Gandhi International Sports Complex in Gaulapar. Vice Chancellor Amit Sinha shared the preliminary outline of the university during a meeting with various coaches of the Sports Department. He informed that the university will be started with BPEd (Bachelor of Physical Education). In the first phase, classes and offices will be conducted in some rooms located in the International Sports Complex of Gaulapar.

He said that the establishment of the university will provide high-level sports education and training facilities to the players of Uttarakhand. This initiative will provide new opportunities to the youth in the field of sports and will prove to be an important step towards making Uttarakhand a major center of sports education. During this, district sports officer Nirmala Pant, deputy sports officer Varun Belwal, coach Trilok Jina, Shyam Bhatt, Govind Latawal, Poonam Sirola, Kritika Joshi, Tunja Arya, Prashant, Subhangi Shah etc were present. During the coaches meeting, vice chancellor Amit Sinha asked the coaches to make it compulsory for all the players coming to the stadium to be registered. He said that the players coming to the sports academies and clubs running in the city should also be registered. He said that keeping in view the number of players, necessary steps would be taken to improve the capabilities of the players in future.
