Danger averted from Harshil!, Big success in puncturing the lake

Actually, after the disaster in Dharali on August 5, the flow of Bhagirathi River was obstructed in Dharali and Harshil area. The natural flow of the river was obstructed due to large boulders, trees and soil getting stuck at the mouth of the river in Harshil. A 15 feet lake was formed here, whose radius reached 1200 meters.

The situation worsened due to continuous rain in Uttarkashi. Due to very low drainage of water, the level of the lake increased continuously. Gangotri Highway also got submerged in the lake and the danger increased for the surrounding villages.
