The monsoon session of the Uttarakhand Assembly is going on in Bhararisain. At the same time, the district administration has banned all types of dharna demonstrations by imposing Section 163 within a radius of 5 km of the assembly constituency. During the session, hundreds of workers of Uttarakhand Kranti Dal are being stopped at various places. Due to which UKD leaders are angry. They said that the government is trying to crush the demonstration of UKD.
The monsoon session of the assembly has started from today in Gairsain Bhararisain, the summer capital of Uttarakhand. The District Administration Chamoli has banned all types of dharna demonstrations and siege by imposing Section 163 within a radius of 5 km of Bhararisain Assembly constituency. Heavy police force has been deployed in Diwali Khal Jungle Chatti and Shimla before Bhararisain Assembly constituency.
Chamoli Additional SP Veer Singh said that since last evening, Chamoli District Magistrate has imposed Section 163 around the assembly constituency and no demonstration is allowed within 5 km. He said that a huge police force has been deployed to organize the assembly session, which includes paramilitary forces and women police personnel.
The police thwarted the plans of hundreds of workers of Uttarakhand Kranti Dal from Garhwal and Kumaon region who had come to surround the assembly. Because the protest has been completely banned. Uttarakhand Kranti Dal worker Jaidev Singh said that he had already told in a press conference that on August 19, i.e. today, Uttarakhand Kranti Dal will surround the assembly during the assembly session held in Bhararisain. He said that hundreds of his workers from Garhwal and Kumaon region have left for Bhararisain today, who are being stopped by the police at different places and this is being done in a completely undemocratic manner. He said that the government is trying to crush the protest.
He said that UKD is making two demands from the government. First, the terrible disaster in Dharli should be declared a national disaster, second, Gairsain should be made the permanent capital. The workers of Uttarakhand Kranti Dal say that today Gairsain Vidhan Sabha has become a centre of picnic and the government officials do not even know the way to Gairsain. The Vidhan Sabha session is being organised in Gairsain only to complete the matter. The demand of Uttarakhand Kranti Dal is that Gairsain should be made the capital, which will be an honour for the agitators.
