Uttarakhand: The bloody village of Pithoragarh will now be called Devigram, decision taken on the demand of the villagers, notification issued

The government has changed the name of Khooni village of Pithoragarh district to Devigram. The government took this decision on the demand of the villagers. The Revenue Department has issued its notification. According to the notification issued by Additional Secretary Revenue Dr. Anand Srivastava, the process of name change was completed through the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Science and Technology.

The government had sent a proposal to both these ministries regarding changing the name of the village and sought approval. After getting consent from both the ministries, with the approval of the Governor, the department issued a notification to change the name of the village to Devigram. Now all the government processes related to the village will be completed with the new name only.
