A seven-member team of the central government will soon come to Uttarakhand to assess the damage caused by the continuous disasters in the state. On the other hand, on the instructions of the Chief Secretary, the state government will also send a proposal to the Center.
The Chief Secretary has instructed all the departments to assess the damage and send the proposal by August 25. According to Secretary Disaster Management Vinod Kumar Suman, a proposal to assess the damage caused by the disaster is being prepared, which will be sent to the Center. A team has also been formed by the central government to assess the damage. After conducting a field inspection of the disaster affected areas, the Disaster Management Department, headed by the Joint Secretary, will conduct a post-disaster need assessment. After this, the economic package for the state will be announced by the central government.
The team formed by the Center includes officers like Chief Engineer, Director, Deputy Director etc. The team will arrive to inspect the disaster affected area. The team will be informed about the damage caused in Dharali, Syanachatti, Pauri, Tharali and other areas during the field inspection. Many departments have submitted their reports of the losses incurred in the disaster. The proposal will be sent to the Centre only after the rest of the reports arrive. This team comes only to check the veracity of this proposal.
