Heavy rain alert again in Uttarakhand, schools will remain closed in these districts today

Monsoon showers are continuing in Uttarakhand. Due to which there has been devastation from Uttarkashi to Chamoli. There is no relief from this rain yet. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert as a warning in view of rain in some districts. In view of the rain alert, a holiday has been declared in Anganwadi centers and schools in Chamoli, Bageshwar, Nainital, Dehradun and Uttarkashi districts on August 25 i.e. today.
Rain alert in these districts: Actually, the Meteorological Center Dehradun has issued an orange alert as a warning in view of the possibility of rain on August 25 i.e. today. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of lightning and heavy rain with thunder in Chamoli, Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag and Tehri district. Apart from this, very heavy rain may also occur at some places.
Schools will remain closed in these districts: Keeping in mind the weather department’s forecast of rain and for the safety of the students, Chamoli, Nainital, Bageshwar, Dehradun and Uttarkashi district administrations have declared a day’s holiday in all schools (classes 1 to 12) and Anganwadi centers today. Orders for this have also been issued.
Chamoli facing the brunt of disaster: It is worth noting that on August 23, at around 12:48 pm, there was a havoc due to sudden rise in water level and debris in Tunri Gadera (Sifai) in Tharali of Chamoli district. Due to which there was heavy damage in Sagwara, Chepado and Kotdeep market. Many houses, shops, cow shelters and vehicles were damaged.
Not only this, a 20-year-old girl died after being crushed by the debris. Whereas, a 78-year-old man from Chepado went missing. Apart from this, 9 people were injured. Out of which 6 people have been sent to AIIMS Rishikesh. Whereas, 1 injured has been admitted to Sub District Hospital Karnaprayag. At the same time, two injured have been discharged after first aid.
At the same time, about 42 people have been accommodated in the relief camp. In which 17 people have been accommodated in Government Polytechnic College Kulsari and 26 people in Primary School Chepado. Today CM Pushkar Dhami himself reached Tharali and did a field inspection. Also met the affected and got to know their condition.
On the other hand, people buried under the debris are being searched by running a rescue operation in Dharali of Uttarkashi. Along with this, the washed out Gangotri Highway has been repaired in Sonagad and Dabrani. Due to which the machines have reached Harshil. Where the work of opening the highway is being done rapidly. At the same time, after puncturing the lake formed in the Yamuna river in Syanachatti of Uttarkashi, the water has reduced considerably.
