After the resignation of former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, the opposition including Congress is questioning his silence. Home Minister Amit Shah has reacted to this, referring to Dhankhar’s resignation due to constitutional role and health reasons, Shah also criticized the opposition candidate for the post of Vice President, Sudarshan Reddy.

Former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has not made any public statement since resigning, due to which the opposition including Congress is constantly alleging that Dhankhar is missing. Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has responded to his resignation. He said that Jagdeep Dhankhar was holding a constitutional post and during his tenure he did good work in accordance with the Constitution. He has resigned due to his personal health problem. No one should try to find something by stretching it too much.

The Union Home Minister has given this statement in an interview with news agency ANI. His statement comes a few days before the Vice Presidential election to be held on September 9. Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan is the NDA candidate for these key elections and the opposition has fielded former Supreme Court Justice B Sudarshan Reddy as its candidate. Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned last month citing health reasons, after which discussions started on why he took this step.

Rahul Gandhi had raised questions

Last week, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had targeted the government over Dhankhar’s move and asked where did the old Vice President go? Rahul Gandhi had said that and we should not forget why we are electing a new Vice President. I was talking to someone, so I said, do you know, where did the old Vice President go?

What did Shah say about the opposition’s Vice Presidential candidate?

At the same time, Amit Shah, while talking about INDIA alliance’s Vice Presidential candidate Sudarshan Reddy, said that he rejected Salwa Judum and abolished the right to self-defense of the tribals. This is why Naxalism lasted for more than two decades in this country. I believe that the leftist ideology must have been the criterion for choosing Sudarshan Reddy.
