A big news is coming from Pithoragarh. A landslide has occurred near the tunnel of NTPC’s power house in Dharchula. 19 NTPC employees were trapped due to the landslide. So far eight employees have been rescued safely in the rescue operation. At the same time, the rescue operation is going on to safely evacuate 11 employees. A landslide occurred near the tunnel of the underground NHPC power house located at Ailagad in Dharchula, Pithoragarh. In which the tunnel route was closed due to accumulation of huge amount of debris and stones. During this time 19 employees working inside the tunnel were trapped.
Eight employees rescued safely
Pithoragarh District Magistrate Vinod Goswami said that with the promptness of the district administration and BRO, relief and rescue work is being conducted on a war footing. The debris is being removed from the mouth of the tunnel. Along with this, the emergency shaft area is also being cleaned continuously.
He told that so far eight personnel have been evacuated safely. The remaining 11 personnel are also safe. The administration is in constant touch. The district administration, BRO, NHPC, NDRF, CISF and other rescue teams are continuously making joint efforts.
