In a message broadcast on Telegram, Mehdi al-Mashat, the head of the Houthi group’s supreme political council, said, ‘We promise to Allah, the Yemeni people and the families of the martyrs that we will take revenge from Israel.’ Mashat said that no one is safe in Israel now. In such a situation, foreign companies working there should leave Israel before it is too late.
Israel confirmed the attack
According to the Houthi council, Israel attacked Yemen’s capital Sanaa on Thursday. The head of the Houthi administration, several ministers and top officials have lost their lives in this. Israel confirmed the airstrike on Friday and said that its army targeted the Houthi Chief of Staff, Defense Minister and other officials.
Israel has also spoken of targeting the Houthi Defense Minister. However, it was not clarified in the statement of Al-Mashat whether the Houthi Defense Minister was also killed in the Israeli attack or not. The most important name among those killed in the Israeli attack is Ahmed al-Rahavi. He became the Prime Minister a year ago. After Rahawi’s death, Mohammad Moftah has been made the Prime Minister.
Fight between Houthis and Israel
The fight between Israel and the Houthis has been going on since October 2023. The Houthis announced their support for Palestine after Israel’s attacks began in Gaza in October 2023.
