Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday participated in the tribute program organized in memory of the agitators who were martyred during the Uttarakhand state movement in Khatima. On this occasion, he paid tribute to the martyred state agitators. In his address, the CM said that today is the day to remember the immortal martyrs Bhagwan Singh Sirola, Pratap Singh, Rampal, Salim Ahmed, Gopichand, Dharmanand Bhatt and Paramjit Singh who sacrificed their all in the Khatima firing incident during the Uttarakhand state movement.

Uttarakhandis will remain indebted to the agitators: CM

The CM said that every citizen of Uttarakhand will always remain indebted to all these brave sons. Recalling his experiences of the state movement, the Chief Minister said that this incident inspired people to take forward the fight for the rights of Uttarakhand. Let us all together build the Uttarakhand of his dreams, this will be our biggest tribute to him. The CM said that the government is making every possible effort to realize the ideals and dreams of the state movement activists.

The CM said that along with issuing identity cards to the identified state agitators, 93 agitators have also been employed in government service. The agitators are also being provided the facility of free travel in government buses. The CM said that the role of Nari Shakti in the Uttarakhand movement has been very important, they participated enthusiastically in the movement. Keeping in view the role of Matri Shakti in the formation of the state, the state government has implemented 30 percent horizontal reservation in government jobs for the women of the state.
