The Information Ministry of Afghanistan said that more than 250 people died due to the earthquake late on Sunday night. At the same time, more than 500 people are reported to be injured. According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake occurred at a depth of 8 kilometers, 27 kilometers east-northeast of Jalalabad.

Rescue work started after the earthquake

There are reports of people being injured in Noor Gal, Sawki, Watpur, Manogi and Chapa Dara districts of Kunar province. They were immediately sent to the nearest hospital. According to the initial information, the death toll was nine. After which it became 20. Now this number has increased to more than 250.

Many houses turned into rubble

The earthquake has caused huge destruction. Hundreds of houses have turned into rubble. Let us tell you that after the earthquake, landslides also occurred. Due to which many people are buried under the rubble. The administration has started rescue operations. Nangarhar and Kunar provinces are part of the Hindukush region.
