The education department of Uttarakhand has once again come under controversy. A case of scam of crores of rupees has come to light under the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Yojana scheme. After which the investigation of this entire matter has been handed over to the SIT.
3 crore scam in Uttarakhand Education Department
Actually, a complaint of financial irregularities was received in the PM Nutrition Cell Dehradun. The departmental investigation revealed that there has been a scam of about Rs 3.18 crore between the years 2023-24 to 2025-26. In this, an Upanal employee has been found directly guilty.
Six District Education Officers also under suspicion
The investigation report has also revealed that not only the employees but also six District Education Officers and officers like Finance and Accounts Officer are under suspicion. It is alleged that due to their negligence, money kept getting transferred to different accounts online without any investigation.
Education Minister handed over the investigation to SIT
The investigation committee headed by the Additional Director of Education of Garhwal Division submitted the report to the government. The report said that a high-level investigation is necessary to get to the bottom of the matter and take strict action against the culprits. After this, Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat approved handing over the investigation of this case to SIT.
