A big news related to Chardham Yatra is coming out in Uttarakhand. Now the helicopter service of Kedarnath Dham (kedarnath helicopter fares) has become more expensive. In such a situation, devotees will now have to loosen their pockets more.

Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) has announced an increase of about 49% (ticket price) in heli service. These new rates will be applicable from 15 September 2025. However, the permission of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is yet to be received regarding this.

UCADA CEO Ashish Chauhan says that this decision has been taken to increase the fare keeping in mind the necessary circumstances. In recent years, many questions related to safety were raised regarding helicopter accidents during the Chardham Yatra.

Fares increased by up to 49%

Due to this, DGCA has implemented strict rules for heli service. Which includes technical improvements like automatic weather station, PTG cameras, ATC, VHF set, and ceilometer etc. Apart from this, two control rooms are being built in Sahastradhara and Sirsi of Dehradun. A team of about 22 operators will keep an eye on the flights. Due to all this, the decision to increase the fare has been taken.

New rates of tickets to go to Kedarnath by helicopter kedarnath helicopter fares

Due to new rates, the fare of heli service to Kedarnath Dham:-

• From Guptkashi to Kedarnath: Rs 12,444 (fare for going and coming back)
• From Phata to Kedarnath: Rs 8,842
• From Sirsi to Kedarnath: Rs 8,839

Please note that earlier this fare to Guptkashi was about Rs 8,532. On the other hand, the fare from Phata to Kedarnath and Sirsi to Kedarnath was Rs 6062 and Rs 6,060. Now it has increased. This means that now the devotees will have to spend at least 4-5 thousand rupees more.

Heli service booking information

Helicopter service for Kedarnath Dham can start from September 15. On the other hand, ticket booking is likely to start from September 10. Tickets will be booked on the website of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).

However, keep in mind that registration of Chardham Yatra is mandatory for booking. Without that you will not be able to book tickets. This time Pawan Hans, Himalayan Heli, Trans Bharat, Global Victra, Thumby Aviation, Kestrel Aviation, and Aero Aircraft Heli companies have been given the responsibility of the service.
